Academic Advancement Programs – University of Central Florida
New position in Academic Advancement Programs, home of UCF’s Ronald E. McNair Scholars program. I have developed a peer learning program in the form of peer mentors who coach and advise their peers on graduate school preparation, integrative learning, and high impact practices. Inclusive digital learning components (webinars, online modules, online structured program, etc.) were designed and developed to create greater access to graduate school preparation for historically underrepresented populations in higher education, first-generation college students, and students from a low-income background.

I am currently maintaining the existing model for first-time in college, or F-L.E.A.R.N.TM, living-learning community while also creating the new Transfer, or T- L.E.A.R.N.TM, model funded by the National Science Foundation.

Pioneered a newly created and dual-reporting position for the STEM Transfer Student Success Initiative (stemtransfer.org) funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Facilitated the creation of a comprehensive network of support in advising, and fosters a collaborative culture shift between UMBC and partner 2-year institution transfer advisors while ultimately better serving students’ transitions.

Awarded $1,000 McNair Promising Practices Institute Digital Learning technology grant to obtain equipment and software to enhance student success through innovative use of technologies and new pedological approaches.
